Television

The television was invented by Philo Farnsworth about 100 years ago but only became possible for people to have in their homes about 60 years ago. The television was supposed to be a means of informing and educating people but it has turned into a form of entertainment more than anything else. Most people today watch the television to see sporting events or to see movies and comedy shows. There are news programs on the television but most people do not watch them. Television has been successful in terms of entertainment but it has been disappointing in terms of education and information giving.
